Lightening stakes winner eyes Timbercorp Australia Stakes

The recent winner of the Coolmore Lightning Stakes, Apache Cat is one of the many top class racehorses in the field for the Timbercorp Australia Stakes to be held at Moonee Valley on Feb 23rd. Apache Cat is going for the win in an attempt to follow in the "hoof prints" of Miss Andretti, the renowned sprinter won both races in 2007,and become only the 4th horse ever to win the Lightning Stakes/Timbercorp Australia Stakes double.Other top horses going for gold in the Timbercorp Australia Stakes include the Gai Waterhouse inmate Dance Hero, this will be Dance Hero's first race since he finished last at Randwick racecourse in December last year. The fabulous Miss Finland is also in the running as is Let Go Thommo,Let Go Thommo who is in-form recently won the Essendon Mazda Carlyon Stakes.Tan Tat De Lago, the deminutive chestnut will also be in the line up and adding to the spectacle, she has won 5 of 7 starts, her biggest win being the Danehill Stakes at Flemington racecourse last year. She will be ridden by Luke Nolen who won the Tattersalls Cox Plate last year and will be my pick to win this very competitive sprint. This will be the first Group 1 race to be held at Moonee Valley this year.
